Eckart was not thrilled at how much it actually did resemble his chin.

The E.M.T. is here to revive your slowly dying ability and motivation to find movies that don’t involve computer generated graphics, fat Mall Cops, or Tyler Perry.

Towelhead (Warner Independant) – Available on Netflix, Lackluster.com, cafedvd.com, DVDavenue.com and iTunes.

‘Towelhead’ is your classic 13 year old hottie turns every dude who isn’t a crazy racist into a foaming at the mouth sleezebag. A story to which we can all relate. Well maybe not all of us. Probably just the 1% of people that are petterasses actually. In fact, it’s pretty disgusting and off-putting, yet alluring. Wait what? It’s terrible. It’s sexy. It’s wrong. It’s sexy. It’s illegal. It’s skin is so soft. Oh my god what has happened!?  Was she askin’ fer it? Probably not.

What this movie demonstrates is the duplicity (sorry if you have to look that up in a dictionary, I know learnin’ is dift-ticult) of Middle Easterners’ experience in the understanding, diverse and intellectual environment of early nineties Texas. A state that’s very progressive when compared to 1930’s Germany.

Jasira is the pubescent ‘Lolita’ figure who is sent to live with her father in Houston, Texas after her mother’s boyfriend offers, and executes with some amount of pinache, to shave Jasira’s pubic hair so the kids at her school stop teasing her and calling her Chewbacca. Pretty standard stuff really. In Texas she still suffers teasing, not for being hairy, but for riding a camel to school. Not really but thats what the kids think. Apparently teachers in Texas are more tolerant than most as they don’t punish anyone who throws a ‘sand nigger’ comment at a 13 year old girl. Keep it classy Houston.

Based on a novel of the same name written by a half Egyptian woman who grew up in the states ‘Towelhead’ somehow keeps this story charming and lighthearted with abrasive humor that swings both ways, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah yeah, and a satirical lambasting of Americans and Middle Easterns alike as Jasira’s father is constantly portrayed as a sexist, dominant and slightly abusive father like most Lebanese turncoats, uh I mean Christians. But the Americans and petterasses get it a little bit rougher.

For all the ladies who melt at the sight of Aaron Eckhart’s mangina chin may not be the biggest fans of this movie as he plays every parent’s least ideal neighbor, an Army reservist. Oh yeah, he’s also into little girls in this movie.
